For the past seven years, I’ve dedicated my career to teaching in self-contained autism classrooms, supporting students with complex needs, and helping families navigate the maze of special education. I’ve written and implemented over a hundred IEPs, collaborated with multidisciplinary teams, and stood beside parents as they fought for the services their children deserve.

 

Through this work, I saw a common theme—parents often came to the IEP table unsure of their rights, overwhelmed by jargon, and feeling like their voice didn’t matter. I knew I had to do more.

 

That’s why I founded Forward Paths: IEP Advocacy—to empower families and ensure every child receives the individualized education they are entitled to. My approach is grounded in real classroom experience, a deep understanding of the IEP process, and a commitment to equity and access.

 

I’m also completing my master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with a focus on Special Education at Arizona State University. This continued education helps me stay current with best practices, behavior support strategies, and legal requirements so I can better serve families both inside and outside of the classroom.
